I look forward to a wonderful school year. French is the most beautiful language and it will enhance your life. The more languages you know, the more you will understand the world and love being a part of it.

Reasons to speak French

  • So you can communicate
    • 128 million Francophones: speak French (as a native or adopted language) fluently and use it on a regular basis.
    • 72 million "partiel" Francophones: live in a francophone country but do not speak French regularly, due to limited knowledge.
    • 100-110 million students of all ages: do not live in a francophone country, but have learned/are learning French in order to communicate with Francophones.
  • So you can empathize with other cultures
    • language is more than words, it is literature, food, films, music, dance, customs, and many other things. Realizing that other people do things different than you will open your eyes and help you understand that people think differently.
  • So you can get a job
    • teaching, translation, international business, government positions, law, sciences, engineering, and many many more careers require French.
  • So you can understand your own language better
