Imagination

Student

We have attempted to build a culture here at Lakeridge that captures the imagination of parents, faculty members, and students. I was recently reflecting on some of the things that have happened this year at Lakeridge because members of our school community were willing to imagine what could be and then put into action the things needed to make that dream come true.

This past month a group of students approached me about doing a book drive and fundraiser for kids in Africa. They arranged for an assembly for our school, held some fundraising events, and will box up and mail the books to
Africa. This kind of initiative had a great impact on many of our students and help them see the world from a different perspective. This came from the imagination of our students. It is this kind of imagination that makes
Lakeridge a special place to be.

Our teachers and faculty have dared to dream big and programs such as FLEX and Latinos in Action were developed. When we allow our imagination to work, we end up finding solutions to problems that benefit our students in ways we could not imagine before. I have watched as I have seen student’s benefit from these two programs. If we did not encourage a culture promoting imagination, these two amazing programs would not exist. We dare to imagine a better way to do education and continue to look for ways to make things better here at
Lakeridge.

Parents in our school have the imagination to see our school as the best school anywhere. As I serve on our school community council, I am amazed at the dedication our parents have to making this school the best. I have watched over the last five years as the imagination and vision of the community council has been put into practice at Lakeridge. More kids are reaching competency every year, students are having a great experience, and Lakeridge is a school that other school look to for support and direction. I want to thank our parents for having the imagination to make Lakeridge a school of excellence.

Parents, student, and faculty—I would like to thank you for having the imagination to make Lakeridge better each year. I want you to know how much I appreciate everything you do.
